Committee for a Better Bustleton

CURRENT NEWS
Bustleton Civic may approve Cowgirls in Whitman Square (headline, NE Times, 7/29)
HUH??? Were you surprised to see this headline?
Surprized that the civic league that stopped a methadone clinic might support a branch of what Seattle papers call “a PG-13 strip club?”
That the mayor of Seattle called it one of the 10 most dangerous bars in Seattle?
That you read none of that in the civic league news or the Northeast Times?
I wasn’t as surprised as confused, but now that I understand better, I’m a former board member of the Greater Bustleton Civic League.
PLEASE I NEED YOUR HELP!!!
I am posting videos shot inside of Cowgirls here.
See their own website: www.cowgirlsinc.com The owners are very proud of it
I have petitions printed up and posted on-line– for GBCL members,
for those 500 and 1500 feet from the Whitman Tavern, and for the community at large.
Print some, get signatures, mail them back to me right away at

Tell your neighbors. Call your elected officials. Come to the zoning hearing.
Cowgirls must have a certificate under Zoning Code § 14-1605. Regulated Uses.
They need a certificate to open because they are within 1500 feet of residences…LOTS of residences.
Their zoning hearing is August 12 at 2 pm.
"Call your elected officials to say "NO!""
(click here for elected officals contact information)
We ALL must step up to the plate and say “NO!” because the Civic League is more concerned about being fair to Cowgirls than to their members and neighbors.

Together, we fought a Methadone clinic…Together, we can fight Cowgirls cabaret…Together, we can make a better Bustleton!
